Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.
