Best hidden gems in Seaside

I'm retired and Household incomes average around $82,303 in Seaside. Median household income is $82,303, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $692,600 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Close to nature

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
- Not enough green space
Worth the trade-offs? The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (West) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Southern places. I have mixed feelings honestly.
