How is Seaside for outdoor activities?

Hey everyone, Crime rate is something to consider -Seaside sits at 229.2 per 100K. The median home value here is around $692,600, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Tampa about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
