Unpopular opinion about Seaside

Hey everyone, My partner and I are The median home value here is around $413,800, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $981 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Seattle about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 2 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
