Couple moving to Seaside Park from out of state

So, Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,402/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $873,700, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 1,804, Seaside Park is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The cost of living is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Diego about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the West side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is improving in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 6 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
