Just moved to Seattle, any tips?

Hi all, Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $912,100, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great BBQ places. it exceeded my expectations.
