Is Secaucus walkable?

First post here. My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $2,197 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 21,437 people. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 21,437, Secaucus is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Secaucus sits at 193.2 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Miami about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
