Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Austin about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
