Cost of living reality check -Seco Mines

Hey, You can expect to pay around $642 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 13.2%, which is concerning. Household incomes average around $39,315 in Seco Mines. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- The traffic scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..
