Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 38,659, Security-Widefield is a smaller city.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
