What's it really like living in Sells?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Dallas about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a electrician and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Uptown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
