Is Selma still affordable?

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $288,700 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,202 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Thanks for reading. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in South for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The weather scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Meadowbrook area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.
