Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,796/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks in advance! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a chef who relocated here from Houston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
