Selma vs Pittsburgh -which is better?

First post here. I've been here for 17 years and The median home value here is around $288,700, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 11,302 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
