First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $52,370, which feels on the lower side for the area. The median home value here is around $208,000, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $208,000 on average. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 58, moved here 2 years ago from New York. I've lived in Midtown and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Affordable housing options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The nightlife situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
