Longtime lurker here, Homes are going for about $465,600 on average. Median household income is $130,627, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Highland. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Eastside area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
