Sewanee quality of life -am I missing something?

OK so I work in real estate and Rent is about $1,186/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,186 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
