It's a a small town city with about 15,914 people. Rent is about $1,530/month for a decent place. Median household income is $85,240, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I work in healthcare here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Sunset for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..
