Rent in Shaker Heights getting crazy
Curious what people think. I've been here for 13 years and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,149/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Shaker Heights sits at 217.0 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.
