Longtime lurker here, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $110,989 in Shakopee. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
