Moving to Shakopee for work -advice?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,495/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $110,989 in Shakopee. With a population of 45,002, Shakopee is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What would you do? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Nashville about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..
