I've been here for 13 years and It's a a small town city with about 6,890 people. The median home value here is around $57,400, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $36,438 in Shamokin. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
