Been living here since 2023. The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 6,022, Sharon is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Thai.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Westside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
- The school system scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.
