Studio apartments in Sharon -options?

Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 17.7%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a small town city with about 13,019 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Indian places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Westside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
