Shasta Lake is underrated, change my mind

Alright, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Shasta Lake sits at 667.2 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 10,334 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
