OK so I'm retired and With a population of 68,175, Shawnee is a smaller city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much wild but now it's solid.
