OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The healthcare scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in finance here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is challenging. Definitely worth checking out..
