First post here. Been living here since 2014. With a population of 68,175, Shawnee is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $332,900, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Shawnee sits at 212.7 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? TIA! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
