Best industries in Sheboygan right now

I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Sheboygan sits at 358.1 per 100K. With a population of 49,812, Sheboygan is a smaller city. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Sheboygan? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
