Best industries in Shelby right now

First post here. Median household income is $50,705, which feels on the lower side for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Seattle it's challenging.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Southern places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for weather and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
