Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 13 years and Homes are going for about $238,600 on average. It's a a small town city with about 17,436 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Austin about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is excellent in most areas.
