The median home value here is around $267,200, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.
