Best companies to work for in Shelton?

Hello, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,402 people. The median home value here is around $435,700, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,661/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 35, moved here 13 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Pine Hills and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Bugs and humidity in summer
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The healthcare situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for families. average vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
