Is Shelton a good place to live?

OK so I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 41,402, Shelton is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,402 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Shelton sits at 53.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,661 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community vibe is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
