Cost of living reality check -Shenandoah

Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Shenandoah sits at 809.4 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What do you all think? TIA!

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
