Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 1 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much pricey but now it's pretty good.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
