Things Sherrelwood needs to improve

Alright, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $73,849 in Sherrelwood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Is this normal for Sherrelwood? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is decent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Highland) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much competitive but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
