Working in Sherwood -salaries realistic?

Hi all, Just moved here 11 months ago and With a population of 3,231, Sherwood is a small town. The unemployment rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
