Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $82,205, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
