Shirley is underrated, change my mind

Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $105,379 in Shirley. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Any advice would be great. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Minneapolis about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
