Freelancing from Shoreline -experience?

Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and Median household income is $113,336, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $113,336 in Shoreline. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Cedar Grove area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Boston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
