I've lived in Pine Hills for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The walkability scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Came here for work and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The dating scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Oak Park area are solid. Kids love it here.
