Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $324,600, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,087/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $324,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Sunset for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The public transit scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- The community vibe scene is improving
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
