Living in Short Hills -the reality

Alright, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Short Hills sits at 11.7 per 100K. Median household income is $250,001, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for work and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The safety is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much affordable but now it's surprisingly good.

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The cultural scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..
