Short Hills is underrated, change my mind
We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Short Hills sits at 11.7 per 100K. Rent is about $3,259/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $1,621,200 on average. It's a a small town city with about 14,398 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
Pros:

- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Not enough green space

Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
