Moving to Short Pump with kids -good idea?

Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $132,194, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,804/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Short Pump? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
