Hi all, Poverty rate is 18.4%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 183K, Shreveport is a mid-size city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
