Best restaurants in Shreveport?

Median household income is $48,465, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's average.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Chicago it's underrated.
