Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $84,942, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $84,942 in Shrewsbury. You can expect to pay around $1,143 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Raleigh it's average.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 29, moved here 2 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Oak Park and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Can feel isolated
3. The weather situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The weather is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
