Housing in Sicklerville compared to New York

Longtime lurker here, Homes are going for about $256,600 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 55, moved here 15 years ago from New York. I've lived in Sunset and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Limited shopping options
3. The traffic situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Baltimore it's decent.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Austin about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..
